Electric Car Charging Stations Starting To Spread

It’s time to rejoice, as in coming years the charging stations for electric cars would be spreading like air. The plans are that they should be made available in almost all the places around the globe. If the charging stations are easily available then the consumer will also not make any hesitation in buying the “Electric Car” and Go Green.

There are different levels of charging:

Level 1 charging is the one which is done at home. It takes regular 120 volt of current for charging and thus requires about eight to fourteen hours of charging.

Level 2 charging using a purpose-built uses 220 volts and reduces the charging time to nearly half.Another is Quick charge which uses 480 volts of direct current and reduces the charging time from hours to minutes.

Following are few developments which are helping in expanding the charging network.

  2. ECOtality has huge plans of installing 15,000 charging stations throughout five states.
